About The Team

Meet Janice Bakera!

Janice Bakera moved to Jefferson 30 years ago from Garfield/Wallington because her husband of 35 years and she wanted to raise their two children in a country setting, not far from the city. She's been involved with many organizations including the Milton Tri PTA as a committee leader, an advisor with Jefferson Recreation Cheerleading, a volunteer with Jefferson Recreation Boys' Lacrosse, and she's been on the board of both the Boys and Girls High School Lacrosse Associations. She was also a member of the Jefferson Township Garden Club. She's married to a former Wallington police officer and current fireman with Company 1 in town.

Janice loves this town and thinks that while we should take advantage of our natural resources for public health and wellness, we shouldn't invite logging, overdevelopment and more traffic, such as what's been going on along Route 15. She would love more hiking paths and accessible walking paths for seniors and residents with mobility challenges.

Meet Anne Augustyn!

Anne serves as a current Jefferson Township Library trustee, and has served in past on the Open Space Committee and the Rockaway River Watershed Committee. She's an active member of the Milton Golden Age Club. She has served in many union leadership roles including but not limited to Grievances Chair, which gave her an on-the-job tutorial in conflict resolution skills. Anne is a graduate of Paterson State College, certified to teach English, earned a Masters in Education from Iona College which included a semester in Dublin, Ireland. She's also certified in Braille. Learn more at teamjeffersonnj.com.

Anne wants to protect an affordable Jefferson Township, and take her experience and knowledge on everything from local traffic issues and road conditions, to effects of development on residents' quality of life and the environment, and put those to work for our residents. She would like expanded resources to support the senior population, especially those reliant on transportation.

Meet Elizabeth McMahon!

Elizabeth McMahon is a recent graduate of Jefferson Township High School, studying Psychology at Rowan University. She was born and raised in Jefferson Township, and is passionate about becoming a police officer on our force in her future. She's volunteered for two years with the Milton First Aid Department. She's one of five siblings and a proud kitten foster parent. Learn more at teamjeffersonnj.com.

She's running for office to help stop the overdevelopment of Route 15 and Jefferson Township, and stop deforestation of Jefferson. She's also passionate about women's rights and about equality and a high quality of life for all people, regardless of how they live, love, identify, pray or play. She wants our representation to reflect our shared higher values of wanting good lives for all and harm to none, with leaders who act in good faith.
